Main scientific contributions
• Experimental discovery of bulk-disclination correspondence (highlighted by Nature: News & Views "Electrons broken into pieces at crystal defects").
• Theoretical prediction and experimental discovery of a series of higher-order topological phases, including higher-order Weyl semimetals (highlighted by Nature Materials: News & Views "The sound of Weyl hinges").
• Experimental discovery of Euler class non-Abelian topological semimetals and their rich phase transitions. These concepts extend the conventional single-gap Abelian band topology to multi-gap non-Abelian topology.
• First experimental realization of acoustic skyrmion lattices (highlighted by APS Physics Synopsis: Skyrmions Made from Sound Waves).
• Pioneering studies in topological photonics and topological phononics.
• Experimental discovery of "parallel to interface refraction" (highlighted by Phys.org "Pushing the limit of thin-film absorption in solar and water-splitting applications", ScienceDaily.com "Extreme light trapping", and NewsWise.com "Extreme light trapping", etc.).
• Pioneering studies of 1D surface phonon polaritons in BN nanotubes (highlighted by Nature Materials: News & Views "Hyperbolic phonon-polaritons").
• Pioneering studies in the field of "inelastic thermoelectric effects".
• Prediction of universal behaviors of electron spin lifetime in semiconductors which are confirmed and acknowledged by more than 40 experimental works.
